Taylor Balkissoon was born in Toronto to French Canadian and Jamaican parents and immigrated to the United States as a child. She grew up in Denver and received her BFA from the University of Colorado Denver in 2014. She was a regular curator at DATELINE, a guest curator at MCA Denver and has curator numerous galleries and shows across Colorado, New York and even in Palestine and Italy.
Her work is about “everything.” About people, about the universe, about absurdism and metaphysics and the tarot and the occult and the internet and all other reasonsI constantly question my perception and existence.
